Welcome to Troop 525's Website!


Welcome to the website of Troop 525 in Peachtree Corners, GA! Chartered with eight boys in August 1984 Troop 525 is boy-led and each is required to hold leadership positions as he advances in rank. The troop meets each Monday night, while school is in session, beginning at 7:30 PM at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church (SUMC) 4500 Jones Bridge Circle, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. This site contains information for the scouts, parents, members and volunteers of our troop. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us!

Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade can join the Boy Scouting program.  Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For information about Cub Scouts please contact Pack 525 (pack525cubmaster @ gwinnettbsa dot org).

Service opportunity SUMC -11:00 am 6/28/2015

All scouts -
The SUMC minister needs Scouts to bring the flags into the Celebration of Freedom service on June 28 at 11:00am. They will need to be at the Sanctuary at 9:30to rehearse.   We need at least two Scouts for this service and can use additional for a full color guard. 

Troop Outing Schedule 2015 to 2016

Scouts and Families - 

The attached outing schedule shows the planned outdoor events for the next 12 months.  Locations have been confirmed and sign ups are available on the troop website.  As the outings get closer additional informaiton will be forwarded

WSR 2015 - Final report

ALL - The troop had a very good week in camp at Woodruff Scout reservation.  It was our largest group at camp in several years
HIGHLIGHTS of the week:
- 52 scouts in camp for the week
- 4 leaders in camp for the full week
     Big Thanks to:

- 9 leaders in camp for 1/2 weeks
- 21 scouts in Mountain Man (new scout program)
- All scouts in Mountain man completed 100% of the program
- 19 scouts on the Ocoee river
- 32 scouts on the Nantahala river
- Troop performed 60 hours of service for the camp helping clear a field of rocks
- Hours of corn hole played
- First annual Hearts tournament
- Survived really neat Thunderstorms Monday evening, early Tuesday morning, and Tuesday on the way to breakfast
- Celebrated 3 birthdays
- Climbing tower on Monday night
- Majority of the troop enjoyed classic 60's Batman on Tuesday night
- All of the troop attended Flag retirement on Wednesday night
- Over 150 merit badges earned by the scouts attending
- Enjoyed the Davis Inn with branding, dulcimer playing, candle making, axe throwing, and chickens
- Multiple rank advancements in camp
- Multipe scouts completed the Mile Swim on Friday
- One brave scout attended the Polar Bear Plunge
- All scouts passed the Sunday swim test and were classified as swimmers
- Troop earned Honor Troop award
- Troop earned Scouting Traditions Award
- Troop earned Ranger award
Big thanks to all the leaders in camp for the week, leaders who assisted with payments, transportation, and medicals.  Also thanks to the parents who drove up or back, and to all who support the council throughout the year which helps fund and maintain WSR.
