Welcome to Troop 525's Website!


Welcome to the website of Troop 525 in Peachtree Corners, GA! Chartered with eight boys in August 1984 Troop 525 is boy-led and each is required to hold leadership positions as he advances in rank. The troop meets each Monday night, while school is in session, beginning at 7:30 PM at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church (SUMC) 4500 Jones Bridge Circle, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. This site contains information for the scouts, parents, members and volunteers of our troop. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us!

Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade can join the Boy Scouting program.  Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For information about Cub Scouts please contact Pack 525 (pack525cubmaster @ gwinnettbsa dot org).

Crossover event - Packs 525 and 575

Troop is helping with the Pack crossover.  We need Scouts and Leaders to assist with putting on neckerchiefs and welcoming the new scouts.  We will assemble at Berkley Lake Chapel at 3:00 pm on Sunday 3/26.  Full Class A uniform

April outing #1 – Ropes Course at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center

Sign up now for the April outing.  This will be the Crossover Scouts first outing.  Will be camping at GEHC, doing some crossover scout training, and spend 2 – 3 hours at the Treetop quest ropes course on-site.  The outing fee is $49 and is primarily covering the ropes course event.

Troop Youth Leadership - 

The troop will have the planning meeting for 2017 - 2018 on April 24 at 7:30.  This is the opportunity to plan the Outdoor and Camping program from August 2017 - July 2018.  For reference attached to this announcement is a listing of all the troop's outing since January 2000 (roughly 18 years).  Please come with new ideas and some new and exciting outings.  We can get all these ideas, then review what is feasible.

DEADLINE for Sign-up in SUNDAY 3/12/2017 - Need to have Scouts signed up so menus and travel plans can be determined.

This year the game will be played on the rolling plains for Central Georgia at Hard Labor Creek State park - Rutledge, GA - 3/17 to 3/19
ALSO - IN Conjunction with the outing - Our next Troop wide community service project is the collection of canned goods and/or personal care items for the Norcross Cooperative Ministry.  We do the collection of canned goods in conjunction with the Capture the Flag campout.
Each scout must bring 20 canned good items/personal care items in order to attend the Capture the Flag campout on March 17-19, 2017.  Feel free to make a sign and collect cans from the neighbors, ask grandparents to donate, or grab some yourself at the grocery store.  Please make sure that all cans brought are not expired.
We will be have a designated van in the parking lot on Friday to collect the canned goods items that are brought that evening by the scouts that will be attending the trip.  We will keep a count of the scouts contributing so we will have a final tally of cans/items donated.
