Welcome to Troop 525's Website!

  

Welcome to the website of Troop 525 in Peachtree Corners, GA! Chartered with eight boys in August 1984 Troop 525 is boy-led and each is required to hold leadership positions as he advances in rank. The troop meets each Monday night, while school is in session, beginning at 7:30 PM at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church (SUMC) 4500 Jones Bridge Circle, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. This site contains information for the scouts, parents, members and volunteers of our troop. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us!

Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade can join the Boy Scouting program.  Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For information about Cub Scouts please contact Pack 525 (pack525cubmaster @ gwinnettbsa dot org).

LEADERS Needed - Summer camp(s)

For Summer camp 2014 the troop is attending WSR the week of 6/8/14 and Skymont the week of 7/6/14.  PLease advise if you can assist as a leader FULL or PARTIAL week.

There are on-line payments setup now for Woodruff and Skymont.  These are needed by 4/5/2014 so the troop can transmit to the summer camps

TO ALL scouts attending WOODRUFF and/or SKYMONT
 
Now is the time to sign up for camp and indicate your merit badge class selection.  Attached are 2 forms to assist with the process.  You will need to review and determine what merit badges might be fun, what may interest you, and what may assist with rank advancement. 
 
Once you decide your class schedule each scout will need to go to the appropriate link for the camp (below) and fill in the form.  
 
For the families with new scouts crossing over please indicate NEW SCOUT and we will get them into the standard First Year program.  If a new scout is attending Woodruff and Skymont they will need to select merit badges for Skymont
 
WOODRUFF - Need scouts signed up by 3/25 to insure the best selection of classes.  You can sign up later, but you may NOT get all your desired classes.  Refer to the reference guide for which Merit badges can be completed at camp
 
SKYMONT - Need scouts signed up ASAP as their registration is open now to insure the best selection of classes.  You can sign up later, but you may NOT get all your desired classes.  Refer to the reference guide for which Merit badges can be completed at camp

Seabase 2015 - Out Island Adventure

Apologies for the short notice. If your scout would like to attend Seabase next summer PLEASE let us know by paying the deposit (non-refundable) by Monday, Mar 17 via our 'Online Payment' page on our website. You'll have to be logged in to accomplish this.

Capture the Flag - 2014 - Sign up now - DEADLINE is 3/10/2014

ALL - Registration is open for Capture the Flag 2014.  Also this is our annual Scouting for Food drive.

Cost is $20 per scout.  Location is Ft Yargo State Park.  Also as in past years we will be collecting for Norcross food COOP.  20 cans of food OR also youth underwear is a need

Robert Pope will be working on his eagle project this Saturday starting at 10:00 at his house 4586 Southport Crossing in River Station.  If you can help out any time on Saturday that would be great.  We will be sawing, sanding and assembling 3 heavy wood benches. We will provide snacks, drinks, and lunch.  You may call Robert at 770-378-9764 with questions or to let him know you are coming.
